First Program written successfully . When we connected the NXT to the PC using the USB provided we were able to download a simple sound programme which said “good job” ……. We did this buy using the Mindstorms application. We learnt how to hook up the NXT and to download and play programmes. Such as :
>Sound
>Movement
>Display
>sensor programs
We completed the first twenty exercises under “Common Palette”.
---We renamed the NXT brick to Howard ….. I dunno he chose the name. Inventory completed… Alls good.
Stardate~23/Feb/09(inventory done)
We completed the exercises under complete palette and saved some of the more useful ones such as programmes that count bumps and displays distances on the screen.
Ø Project started. Light sensors calibrated to allow for greater accuracy in the exercise.
Ø Tom wrote a colour distinguishing program while Jay wrote a program based on the bump counter to deal with the variables needed in the exercise … So far the main problems are the robots difficulty in accurately seeing colour. It makes for very slow going when the thing cant see
Ø Graham has drawn out some flowcharts to help visually represent the different aspects in the program.
